Asuncion, Paraguay, October 26, 2008--A vegetarian's nightmare is the stuff of sweet dreams for some 30,000 barbeque lovers. 

A chef checks his charge during preparations for a feast near Asuncion, Paraguay. The barbeque was meant to shatter the world record for the globe's largest grill-off. 

Hungry diners devoured some 61,700 pounds (28,000 kilograms) of beef. 

The barbeque drew attention to Paraguay's booming cattle industry and raised money for charity.
